The Warm Line is a service provided by the people from the Illinois Mental Health Collaborative that provides support and information to people suffering with mental illnesses and/or substance abuse issues as well as to support and information to families and friends of those suffering in order to create a better environment for healing and recovery. Though it is considered a “Peer Support System”, all of the counselors are “CRSS” trained and certified .
“We are people with lived experience in mental health and/or substance use recovery who provide peer support over the phone. We provide emotional support, recovery education, referrals to community services if needed. We are here to provide hope, education, and empowerment to promote and encourage long term recovery.” says Miss Kathrine, one of the counselors (also a personal Angel contact), and though their doors open mainly to the local public, their phone lines are open to all.
